CBYD COVID-19 Statement
Hamden, CT — March 20, 2020. Call Before You Dig continues to process locate requests through both our call center and the CBYD811 E-Ticket system. Users are encouraged to take advantage of online services, which allow tickets to be created anytime from a computer, tablet, or mobile device.
In response to guidance from Governor Lamont and the Connecticut Department of Public Health, CBYD implemented emergency response measures to protect employees, industry partners, and the public.
Operational Measures
- Cancelling or postponing external industry activities, including training programs, trade shows, and association meetings through April 15
- Minimizing on-site staffing and implementing remote work where possible
- Enacting enhanced hygiene and workplace safety protocols
- Limiting access to CBYD offices by non-employees and the general public
Due to statewide mandates, some utility partners may experience reduced staffing and limited resources. Excavators are reminded to confirm all utility responses before beginning work and to wait for facilities to be marked or cleared if a response is outstanding.
Utility contact information is provided on the PDF confirmation ticket emailed after a locate request is submitted. Damaging a facility during this period could result in significant service disruptions and safety risks.
